Visit the sunny Gold Coast

Hey there Gold Coast dwellers and visitors- lonely in your high-rises? Tired of working on your tans? Why not drop into the Gold Coast City Art Gallery before 10th May- currently showing metal jewellery and sculpture developed by Queensland artists last year for Brisbane’s Mayo Festival.

The sculptors involved are Krista Berga, Sebastian Di Mauro, Fiona Foley, Donna Marcus, Dennis Nona, Terry Summers and Daniel Della-Bosca.

Sculpture by Dennis Nona

Jewellers are
Ari Athans, Matt Dwyer, Kylie Gartside, Barbara Heath, Kathy Mclay, Anna Varendorff and me!

Oxidised Silver doily earrings by Madeleine Brown

The Brisbane artsy-jeweller community is small and supportive, so it was great to catch up with all the clever ones who were included in this exhibition and see what new work they’ve been producing.

Most of the sculpture has been produced as limited edition multiples, with the help of Brisbane’s Urban Art Projects. A couple of pieces that I would give my right arm for. Wanna swap, sculptors?

Oh...what fun! Being that I'm only half an hour away from the Arts Centre I might just have to drop by and feast on your beautiful creations! Ingrid!
